Ohman. So I tried this and I started to hear a little bit of overtone! I’m so excited! I’m definitely going to work on this and show off to my friends lol :P

@phlizmo That’s cool man. Ya people have been using this or something like this in pop music a lot.

  5. yuichituba says:

@scottmorrise No, because with vocal fry you’re already distorting the pitch. If you try both it would be like cutting up an orange and smashing it and still call it a whole orange……for example :P

@LoneGranger ya, a bit of a challenge, but seems like it’s helping some people :)

  7. yuichituba says:

@blo0red I would say keep up with how you’re doing it. The more you play around with it, you will figure out yourself how to make it louder. Like I said, everyone’s mouth is different.

hi there i can get the overtone noise ok but i dont put my tong on the back of my teeth. i get it by just flexing the back of my tongue. the resonance isnt that loud tho. and wen i try putting my tongue at the back of my teeth i lose the sound altogether, any solutions?

    vocal fry IS overtones lol

  15. scottmorrise says:

Cool stuff man. I’m starting to get a hint of overtones with a few minutes of work. Got to get the lips and tongue on the same overtone. I’ve been doing a vocal fry for years and wonder if you can use overtones with a vocal fry?
